United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Secretary General Cleophas Malala now claims cartels are behind his recent woes at the party.
Malala was responded to claims that he has been stripped off power and that he is no longer in control of UDA’s bank accounts.
“I have made it impossible to steal from the party. They cannot come here for Sh1 million or Sh5 million which they want to use over the weekend. I have made it very difficult for the cartels,” he said

“A story that is not factual is not worth writing. Those allegations are not true,” he continued
To prove his case, the former Senator made a call to Equity bank where the party holds four accounts namely the Political Parties Fund Account, the Elected Members Account, UDA Elections Account and Donations Account.
In all the accounts, Malala has been listed as a signatory including UDA chairperson Cecily Mbarire and National Treasurer Japheth Nyakundi.
Malala who is a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto is reported to have been clipped back his powers within the party, a move meant to weaken the DP who has been challenging some decisions in Kenya Kwanza.
