A man was on Monday arraigned before Wang’uru Law Courts in Kirinyaga County for allegedly sending abusive messages to Mwea MP Mary Maingi via WahtsApp.
34-year-old Joseph Muiruri Kamau appeared before principal magistrate Martha Opanga where he was charged with sending the abusive messages on 27th March 2025.

The court was imformed that the accused in his right senses engaged the legilsator sending her the abusive mesages with full knowledge that the words were offensive.
Joseph however denied the charges and was released on a bond of Ksh 100,000 or a cash bail of Ksh 30,000.
The case will again be mentioned on 28th April 2025 and the hearing is scheduled for 28th July 2025.
