Man sets self on fire outside Supreme Court building

A Man has on Tuesday morning set himself on fire outside Supreme Court building due to frustration caused by an ongoing Court case.

The 9am incident saw the man identified as James KipiraJ sustain server burn wounds after dosing himself with patrol.

Reports confirmed that James decided to set himself on fire in frustration following a court case that is dragging before the court.

In the case involving a vehicle purchase, James who had already paid a Ksh 300,000 deposit for the vehicle was involved in a car accident but unfortunately it was insured.

Efforts by him to reach the seller turned futile as he was told to first the whole Ksh 1,300,000 before repairs could begin prompting him to move to court.

“He was carrying some documents and a bottle with a liquid. While standing on the street pavement, he placed the documents on the ground, doused himself in the liquid believed to be petrol and pulled out a lighter setting himself on fire.

The Security Officers at the gate of the Supreme Court Building responded immediately and rushed to rescue the man by putting out the fire. Although it was extinguished, the man sadly sustained some burns.” he said
