Detectives have arrested a man believed to be behind the Sunday’s assault on a traffic police officer in Nairobi.
The suspect was arrested hiding at his girlfriend’s house hours after committing the crime which saw many Kenyans demand for his immediate arrest.
At the time of the incident, the Kasarani based police officer noticed a vehicle which was obstructing other road users and decided to check what was happening. Upon reaching the vehicle, the driver attempted to make a U-turn before hitting a ditch.

It was at this point that the police officer entered the vehicle and instructed the driver to drive to the police station.
Things took a different turn after the driver pulled out a sword forcing the corporal to exit the vehicle. The man then descended on him with blow and kicks leaving him with injuries by the road side.
It took the intervention of other road users who took him to a nearby hospital for first aid before he was transferred to Mama Lucy Kibaki for further treatment.
