Ruud is, and always will be, a Manchester United legend. We are grateful for his contribution and the way in which he has approached his role throughout his time with the club. He will always be very welcome at Old Trafford” read the statement
The decision for Ruud Van Nistelrooy to leave the club follows the arrival of Ruben Amorim who has made it clear that he will come with his coaching staff.
“It’s over between Manchester United and Ruud van Nistelrooy. He won’t be part of Rúben Amorim staff, as clearly expected — Amorim respects Ruud but wants to work with his own staff.” said Fabrizio Romano
