Former Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh has on Thursday passed away at the age of 92 years following a long period of battling age-related conditions.
Singh who was dubbed the ‘reluctant king’ due to his style of leadership was on Thursday rushed to the hospital after he suddenly lost consciousness.

He is well known for his successful stint at the helm of the government raising millions of Indians out of poverty as he also served as the country’s Finance Minister.
Confirming the news was Prime Minister Nerandra Modi who termed him a respected economist who left behind a strong imprint of there economic policy over the years.
“India mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished leaders, Dr. Manmohan Singh Ji. Rising from humble origins, he rose to become a respected economist.
He served in various government positions as well, including as Finance Minister, leaving a strong imprint on our economic policy over the years.
His interventions in Parliament were also insightful. As our Prime Minister, he made extensive efforts to improve people’s lives.” he said
