According to Sarungi, her stay in Kenya was for business purposes even though she had been hinted of unknown people trying to reach her.
As to whether Kenya is safe, Maria noted that it is much better than back in Tanzania where activists have disappeared without a trace.
The communication expert also noted that in Tanzania, social media has been made to believe that she is behind the falling popularity of ruling party CCM which she said is a propaganda.
Upon her release, she was informed as to how Kenyans pushed for her release on social media, something that she appreciates especially when they do not know her in person.
Also mentioned was the driver of a City Hoppa bus who was caught on video blocking the van that had abducted her. According to Sarungi, the driver really confused the abductors at the time.
