Mombasa based company Mash Poa has issued a statement following Sunday’s morning fatal accident along the Mombasa-Nairobi highway at Taru.
Through a statement, the company confirmed the accident and passed its deepest condolences to family and friends of those who lost their lives.
“This morning at about 5:30AM, one of our bus KCJ 386V was involved in a road accident at Taru area along the Nairobi -Mombasa highway. The accident occurred after a truck veered off it’s lane hitting the bus and throwing it off road.

2 of our clients have sadly died following the accident while others are nursing injuries. We wish all the injured a speedy, healthy recovery and wishes to convey our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the departed. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un.” they said
According to police report, the accident occurred after a trailer left it lane before hitting the bus head-on before veering off the road. A total of 20 passengers were injured in the process as two other died on the spot.
“Two people died in a traffic road accident involving a MASH POA bus and a Mercedes Benz trailer, that occurred on December 24, 2023 morning at Taru Town Center, along Mombasa -Nairobi Highway.
20 other passengers, among them two juveniles who were seriously injured have been rushed to Samburu Sub County Hospital and the bodies preserved at Kinango Sub County Hospital Mortuary.” said National Police Service
