Several passengers are reported to have sustained injuries after a matatu they were in overturned near Maanzoni along the Mombasa-Nairobi highway.
At the time of the incident, the matatu was travelling to Nairobi from Machakos and the injured passengers have been taken to Machakos County Referral Hospital for treatment.

Confirming the news was Athi River Sub-county Police Commander Phyllis Muthoni who noted that investigations into the incident have begun.
A witness confirmed that before the accident, the driver of the matatu swerved to avoid hitting another vehicle before it overturned.
