Match fixing allegation rock goalkeeper Patrick Matasi

Harambee Stars goalkeeper Patrick Matasi is facing allegations of match-fixing after an alleged video of him resurfaces.

In the video shared by Cyprian is Nyakundi on social media, Matasi could be heard negotiating with unknown people on a unknown date on how to manipulate a certain fixture in their favor.

“Kenyan men’s national football team goalkeeper Patrick Matasi has been dragged into serious allegations of match-fixing after a secretly recorded video was leaked allegedly showing him negotiating a deal to manipulate the outcome of a Kenyan Premier League (KPL) match.

Matasi, who currently plays for Kakamega Homeboyz FC after a recent stint at Kenya Police FC, is seen in the video seated in the right back seat of a stationary vehicle, actively engaged in a conversation with someone off-camera.

The footage was secretly recorded from the left back seat by another person, though the exact date it was taken remains unclear.” said Cyprian

Matasi who is well experienced on matters goalkeeping has played for Tusker FC, Posta Rangers FC and AFC Leopards making him the best goalkeeper to take the national team’s number one position.

His performance on field has now come under serious scrutiny given the number of blunders that have cost Harambee Stars crucial opportunities to qualify for the World cup for example.

Kenyans are now calling on the FKF to take action on the allegations with some suggesting a total ban on matters football.
