Kenya journalist Mercy Juma Okanda has left UK based media company BBC ending a six year stint with them.
The news was confirmed by fellow fellow journalist and BBC World Service Africa Regional Editor Richard Kagoe who noted that it was her last day at work.
“On Tuesday, we bid farewell to an incredible colleague and exceptional journalist Mercy Juma Okande. Over the years, she’s earned numerous awards for her compelling storytelling,” said Richard

He continued by recounting how she highlighted the plea of those affected by health, natural disasters and conflict.
“We call her “the humanitarian” for her unique ability to uncover and highlight the struggles of those affected by natural disasters, health crises and conflict.” he said
It not however clear where Mercy is heading to by her colleague revealed that she is heading to a new journey.
