The Meru County Assembly has as asked residents to give their opinions in the impeachment plan of Governor Kawira Mwangaza.
The notice was issued by Jacob Karari, the County Assembly Clerk who noted that the deadline for submission is 24th October.
“A notice of motion for the removal of the Governor Meru County by impeachment in line with the provisions of Article 181 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, Section 33 of the County Governments Act, 2012 and Standing Order No. 65 of the County Assembly of Meru Standing Orders was laid on the Table of the Honourable Assembly.

the County Assembly invites members of the public and stakeholders to submit any submissions/presentations that they may have on the said Notice of Motion.” read the notice
In addition to the notice, a special sitting to collect the view will be done on Monday, 23rd October before the assembly announces the next step.
The news comes at a time when Meru MCAs filled a motion to impeach the Governor sitting a number of offenses including abuse of office.
This was after the MCAs accused the Governor of failing to hear them and most importantly the issue of employing his relatives into the county.
