The government through the Ministry of Education has announced new half term dates for schools for term two.
Confirming the new dates was Education Principal Secretary Dr. Belio Kipsang who noted that the new half term dates for students in pre-primary, primary and secondary school will be from 26th to 28th June 2024.

“The change may require adjustments on planned activities and schedules. You are therefore directed to communicate the content of this circular to all Head Teachers and Principals of schools under your jurisdiction,” he said
The news follows previous delays in resuming the second term of the school calendar caused by the flooding situation in the country. Initially schools were to break from 20th to 23rd June 2024.
Students who were to re-open for the second term on April 29th saw the date postponed to May 6th but President William Ruto pushed it further to May 13th 2024 as a precaution caused by the floods.
