The Ministry of Education has confirmed urgent inspection of both public and private learning institutions to access the level of compliance on matters safety.
Through a statement, Education CS Julius Migos Ogamba noted that the exercise has already kicked off this week covering primary and junior schools and the second phase will cover secondary schools.
Involved in both phases will be officials from the Ministry of Education, Interior and National Administration, health and Department of Public Works, officers from various county governments and Kenya Red Cross.
According to the CS, the purpose of the inspection will be to unearth the recent spate of fires in various schools across the country and issue recommendations.
