The Ministry of Health has confirmed five new Mpox cases this week bringing to 28 the number of confirmed cases in the country.
“The Ministry of Health has confirmed 5 new Mpox cases this week, bringing the total to 28 across 12 counties. Surveillance and preventive efforts are ongoing. Kenyans are urged to remain vigilant and adhere to preventive measures.” said the Ministry
The five new cases comprise of three from Nakuru and two from Mombasa. So far, eight individuals are under management with 17 fully recovered, two under self isolation and one death so far confirmed.

A total of 2,207,715 travelers have been screened from the various points of entry since the virus was confirmed back in July 2027. A total of 332 samples have been tested at the National Public Health Laboratories where 28 came out positive, 292 negative and two are pending.
