Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has questioned why people people want President William Ruto gone and that the needs of Kenyans need to be solved now.
Raila was speaking during the funeral of veteran retired pilot Colonel James Nguyo Gitahi in Maanzoni, Machakos County where he defended his agreement with the Head of State insisting that it is not betrayal.

- Raila claims it was President Ruto who approached him
“Kenyans need to live between now and 2027. The 10-point agenda is not a betrayal to Kenyans. Mnasema Ruto aende, aende alafu nini ifanyike? Shida za wakenya lazima zitatuliwe sasa sio siku ingine.” he said
The ODM party leader warned Kenyans that it during such moments that the country could easily burn into ashes if people are not careful.
“Siku hizi naona huyu kijana mwingine kutoka Murang’a anasema ati ukitaka kuwa Rais kuwa na Gachagua na Kalonzo. Wewe hujui pahali nimetoka bwana, poa kabisa. Nchi hii inaweza kuchomeka ikiwa watu hawajajihadhari sana.” he said
In another reminder about his presidential bids, the former Prime Minister noted that the only fair election was that of the year 2002 but the rest he has won, the only difference is that he had not been declared the winner.
“Uchaguzi ambao ulikuwa free and fair ni wa 2002 peke yake, hizi zingine zote mnajua. Kwa hivyo msiniambie ati nataka kushinda uchaguzi, nimeshashinda mara nyingi. Sijatangazwa tu.” he said
