“A large institution like this cannot go down because of the selfishness of individuals. As of November 8, we are expecting a new council,” they said
Present during the demonstration was Tinderet MP Julius Melly who promised the staff changes in the institution.
He also promised them that a new council will be formed if the current on under Professor Isaac Sanga Kosgey would lead to the collapse of the University.
Previously, Melly who also doubles as the National Assembly Education Committee chairman visited the school to access it and talk with the staff to understand the cause of the rift.
In his assessment, he admitted that the situation was wanting not forgetting the condition of the infrastructure from the farm to the lecture halls.
“Together with my committee members, we have walked around the university right away from the farm, and lecture halls among other structures. The entire situation is chaotic,” he said
According to the staff, Moi University owes them over 10 billion in salaries and other statutory deductions.
