DCI detectives have on Thursday grilled Governor Abdulswamad Sheriff Nassir following the abduction and sodomy of Mombasa based blogger.
The Governor who is already under fire following the incident, presented himself at the Coast General Police post where the detective will seek to understand his connection to the incident.
“I have done my statement. I have done my part as a citizen, as a person who has been mentioned. Let it be known, that I have brought myself to the DCI. I did not even want this to be a charade, that’s why I never even called anyone,” he said

The Governor also condemned the incident as he termed it unfortunate and that people are using it to drag him down.
“A young man has been, you know, something brutal that was done to him, and this is not about me. It would be unfortunate if others want to ride it to be on me.
There is no normal human being who will say that whatever happened was the right thing. Of course, I condemn it. But at the same time, we need to be able to now talk about justice for this young man.” he said
Also under the police radar is the County’s CEC Mohammed Hussein alias Amadoh who was arrested and released shortly after recording his statement.
Four suspects have already been arrested as the police close in on 15 others including the Governor and his mother who have been linked to the incident that has angered Kenyans especially on social media.
