Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Sheriff Nasir has slammed government plans to privatize Kenya Ports Authority (KPA).
Speaking during a ceremony in the county, the Governor posed to ask what feasibility studies that the government has undertaken to establish that indeed the port of Mombasa needs a private investor.
He continued by slamming President Ruto’s administration of planning to rich themselves if the plans are to see the light of the day.

Abdulswamad called on the government to first prioritize privatizing Kenya Airways, an agenda that they have said they are working on but are now pushing to fasten that of KPA as per the Governor.
According to the Governor, it is now evident that the government has no interest in the plight of Kenyans and that there ongoing taxation measures will one day turn on them.
He was speaking at the backdrop of high taxes in the country especially the recent hike in fuel prices and revelation that the government collects Ksh 79 from every liter of fuel sold.
