It was business unusual at Likoni Ferry in Mombasa when a mother threw a one-year-old baby into the Indian Ocean.
The incident which was captured on video saw several young men jump into action to save the live of the baby who was quickly taken to safety.
Speaking after the incident was former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko who called on women to be responsible instead of committing such crimes.
Several incidents have been reported at the busy Likoni Ferry channel including those of people taking their own lives due to depression.
“8-month old child rescued from the Indian Ocean waters along the busy Likoni ferry crossing channel. The child was reportedly thrown into the ocean by mother while on board a ferry at the island side.” said Francis Gaitho
