Kapsaret MP Oscar Sudi has confirmed the new swearing in date for nominated Deputy President Kithure Kindiki.
Sudi who is a close ally of the President noted that plans are done for Kindiki to be sworn in as the new Deputy President come Tuesday.
He continued by saying the Interior CS deserved the position as he had been respectful and served Kenyans equally.
“Even our brother Kindiki whom we have given a job, even when he was a minister, he was not a minister for Tharaka Nithi but for the whole country.
He has now been bestowed with the bigger role of being the Deputy President of Kenya and we will put the issue to rest. On Tuesday, by 10 am, he will have put the bible down.” said Sudi
The lawmaker also noted that as MPs who voted in support of Gachagua’s ouster, they are unapologetic and that the country needs someone who is respectful.
‘’We are not apologetic over that. We want someone who can lead the country with respect and should be able to respect all Kenyans,” he said
Sudi has been vocal before the impeachment process saying that the ousted DP was tribal and that his ouster did not have any relation with the mountain (people of Mt. Kenya region).
’In Parliament, we never touched the mountain, we just ousted a selfish leader trying to box diligent and patriotic Kenyans into a tribal cocoon,’’ he said
The Kapsaret MP has also challenged the incoming Deputy President to traverse the entire country with the mindset that he is a leader of every Kenyan.
“‘He should walk to all corners of the country while knowing that he is a Kenyan and a leader of all Kenyans, are we together? When it is time for leadership, we should put arrogance aside and lead in the right manner,’’ said Sudi
