Last week on Friday the MP was charged with assaulting Malaha-Isango ward MCA Peter Walunya Indimuli during a funeral in the area as captured on camera. Salasya who was arrested was later released on Ksh 50,000 cash bail.
The legislator’s failure to attend the court session has seen the complaint’s advocate calling for cancellation of bail.
Through Advocate Arnold Magina, the complaint told the court that there was no evidence that the MP could not attend the court session except a last minute picture on social media that he had been admitted.
“Let the accused file a report to this court indicating when he was admitted and under what ailment so that we can all be satisfied that indeed he is unwell. He has just posted on his social media platform a few minutes while the court was in session,” he said
The statement was backed by the investigative officer who told the court that as per the tracking data, the MP was at Ekero in Mumias and at Aga Khan Hospital.
