Alego Usonga MP Samuel Atandi has succeeded Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro as the chairperson of the Budget and Appropriations Committee of the National Assembly.
Dr. Robert Pukose has been elected as his deputy to the Committee following a thorough exercise conducted on Wednesday.
Speaking after the win, Atandi thanked ODM party leader Raila Odinga and the broad-based government for there support.

“We have reached this place courtesy of their support, and I thank the broad-based government for the opportunity to serve. I also extend my sincere gratitude to my party leader, Raila Odinga,” he said
He continued by taking note of the very many challenges ahead especially the many tasks expected to be expedited by the committee on matters budget.
“We will do everything possible to live up to the expectations of Kenyans,” said the legislator.
The shake up in Parliament is expected to continue as those in Raila Odinga’s camp are expected to take over some of the most important position, replacing those affiliated to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
The Senate will also see entrance of Raila’s allies to some of the departmental committees and so will be the Cabinet positions.
