Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) has agreed to end contract employment for doctors following a strike that paralyzed services at the facility.
According to KMPDU, the striking doctors and MTRH have agreed that there will be P&P terms for doctors with 1+ years by April 2025, pending deductions owed to the hospital will be cleared with the employer covering all penalties and doctors will now enjoy equipment allowance effective February 2025.

Also agreed was the immediate promotion of doctors after February interviews and full medical cover for all doctors at the institution.
The news comes barely a week after the doctors at the facility downed their tools calling on the hospital’s management to improve the quality of services.
On there part, the hospital management cited shortfall in disbursement from the exchequer that has hindered them from improving their services.
