No individual has been allocated land within Oloolua forest, says KFS

The Kenya Forest Service (KFS) has come out to deny allegations that part of Oloolua forest has been grabbed by unknown people.

Through a series of tweets, KFS noted that the portion of land under question is currently being occupied by four government agencies and belongs under their jurisdiction.

“Following public concerns regarding alleged grabbing of a parcel of Oloolua Forest in Kajiado County, L.R no. 23269, Kenya Forest Service seeks to make a clarification on the matter.

The portion of land in question is currently occupied by four (4) government agencies. There is absolutely no individual who has been allocated land within Oloolua forest.

The ownership of the parcel of land remains under the jurisdiction of Kenya Forest Service. Any insinuation to the contrary is misleading and meant to create confusion and dissent among members of the public.

Kenya Forest Service advises any person with evidence to the contrary to present the same to the nearest police station for investigation. The Service will ensure Oloolua Forest will continue to be safeguarded as a natural resource for posterity and for the benefit of all.” said KFS
