It was a win for Azimio after National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula approved the removal of Sabina Chege as the Deputy Minority Whip.
In her place will be Jubilee Party nominee and Embakasi West MP Mark Mwenje as confirmed by the House Speaker.
“In this regard, Mark Mwenje replaces nominated MP Sabina Chege as the Deputy Minority Whip,” said Wetangula

“To give effect the provisions of article 36 of the Constitution on freedom of association and article 38 of the Constitution on the political right which confer upon each member of the House the right to determine which entity they wish to be associated with.” he continued
The news comes at a time when MPs allied to Azimio threatened to paralyze operations in Parliament if MP Sabina Chege’s stay as ongoing and not quashed by the Speaker. Wetangula has also been blamed for the opposition woes as they had already passed their resolution.
Sabina Chege had already moved to court to block her removal which was supported on the ground that she had not exhausted all avenues within Azimio.
