Kisumu Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o has called for permanent peace at the Kisumu-Kericho border around Sondu area.
The Governor took note that incident has occurred on the eve of President William Ruto’s visit to the region.
“It is very unfortunate that on the eve of the President’s visit to our region, some upstarts last night instigated ethnic clashes in Sondu, along the Kisumu-Kericho border.” said the Governor.

He continued by confirming that gangs armed with bows and arrows crossed over from the Kericho border attacking residents around Sondu market, stealing cattle and killing three people.
It is due to the incident that Kisumu Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o has called upon the national government to act with speed and arrest the criminal and ensure justice to the affected families.
“We condemn this barbaric behaviour and call upon the national government to swiftly apprehend the criminals and ensure justice is dome to the affected familie,” he said
