Kisumu Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o has on Monday received the Queen of Netherlands Her Majesty Maxima.
“Earlier today when I received the Queen of Netherlands Her Majesty Maxima at Kisumu International Airport and later held talks in my office. Welcome to Kisumu Her Majesty !” said Governor Nyong’o
The purpose of the visit was to highlight the various financial inclusion gains, innovation and support key government and private sector projects meant to facilitate financial inclusion.

Even though the Queen was in the county on her capacity as the UN Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development (UNSGSA), the Kisumu Governor noted that Kisumu enjoys solid relationship with Netherlands.
“The overall objective of the visit is to highlight the financial inclusion gains, innovations, and global leadership of Kenya and support key Kenyan government, private sector, and other decision-makers in accelerating achievement on financial inclusion.
Kisumu enjoys a solid relationship with the Netherlands. Her Majesty Máxima Zorreguieta Cerruti is visiting Kisumu in her capacity as the UN Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development (UNSGSA).” said the Governor
