26-year-old Suchir Balaji, an OpenAI whistleblower has been found dead at his apartment in San Francisco as confirmed by CNBC.
“The manner of death has been determined to be suicide,” said executive director of San Francisco’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner Serrano Sewell.
The researcher who has been working with the intelligence company for four years recently raised concerns that OpenAI violated US copyright law.

After the news, police officers were called to the apartment of the 26-year-old researcher to conduct a wellbeing check where they found the victim dead “no evidence of foul play” as per their investigation.
Suchir’s story had made its was to New York Times where he was quoted saying “If you believe what I believe, you have to just leave the company.”
He also told the publication that ChatGPT and other similar chatbots if allowed to operate by training the systems then it will make people and organizations commercially not viable commercially.
OpenAI has also confirmed the death of the researcher as they sent their condolences to his loved ones.
“We are devastated to learn of this incredibly sad news today and our hearts go out to Suchir’s loved ones during this difficult time,” said OpenAI spokesperson.
