Parliament to hold special sitting to discuss pressing matters on 16th January

The Parliament is set to hold a special sitting on 16th January 2025 to discuss pressing matters as communicated to the Members of Parliament.

Speaker Moses Wetangula confirmed the news saying that the Majority and Minority leaders had already filed a request which has been granted. The matters at hand will also involve those from the Senate.

The Notice of Motion on the mediated version of the County Governments Additional Allocations Bill will be tabled before the house as concluded during the process.

The appointment of Cabinet Secretaries, High Commissioners, Ambassadors, Permanent Representative and Consul-General nominees will be discussed in the house as per the report issued.

Nominees for appointment as Vice Chairperson and members of the Public Service Commission (PSC) report will also be tabled before Parliament for discussion.

Also to be tabled will the Startup Bill and Startup Bill all coming from the Senate and will be subjected to debate at the floor.
