Parliament to vet CS nominees Kagwe, Kabogo and Lee Kinyanjui on January 14th

The date is set to vet President William Ruto’s nominees for Cabinet Secretary positions on January 14th, 2025 at Parliament buildings.

This follows the appointment of Mutahi Kagwe, former Health CS to head the  Agriculture and Livestock Development docket.

Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has been appointed Ministry of Information, Communications, and the Digital Economy as former Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui has been appointed to lead the Ministry of Investments, Trade, and Industry.

First to be vetted on January 14th will be Mutahi Kagwe at 12:00pm, followed by William Kabogo at 3:00pm and finally Lee Kinyanjui at 5:00pm.

At the same time nominees for ambassadorial, high commissioner, and diplomatic representative will be vetted by the departmental committee on Defence, Intelligence, and Foreign Relations on January 10th at the main Parliament building.

The nominees are Ms. Margaret Nyambura Ndung’u (Kenya’s High Commissioner to Accra, Ghana), Dr. Andrew Karanja(Kenya’s Ambassador to Brazil), Ababu Namwamba ( Kenya’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in Nairobi) and Mr. Noor Gabow (Consul-General to Port-au-Prince, Haiti).
