After review, Luiz Diaz goal against Tottenham in the opening stages has been confirmed that it was indeed onside.
PGMOL admitted the error was made by their on-field ream but it should have stood as it was a clear and factual error.

“PGMOL acknowledge significant human error during Tottenham Hotspur v Liverpool. The goal by Luiz Diaz was disallowed for offside by the on-field team of match officials. This was a clear and obvious factual error and should have resulted in the goal being awarded.” read the statement by PGMOL
Liverpool levelled through Cody Gapko eventually lost in the 95th minute when Matip sent the ball to his own net thus condemning them to their first Premier League loss of the season.
The news comes at a backdrop of many other complaints raised against the organization on their decisions that have affected some huge matches in the Premier League. It is not yet clear what actions will be taken to avoid such errors to occur again.
