It is a win for the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) after the High Court ruled that all police officers deployed during protests should be in uniform and clearly identified.
Issuing the ruling was Justice Bahati Mwamuye following a case filed by LSK in regard to the death of Rex Masai during the anti-tax protests.

According to LSK, the police officer behind the death of Rex Masai was in civilian clothes and could not be identified after the incident.
They called on the court to bar the Inspector General of police from deploying police officers in plain clothes during demonstrations.
LSK told the court that most cases of police brutality and killings were mostly linked to police officers without proper uniform or those in plain clothes.
The news comes at a time when Isaiah Ndumba, a police officer is accused of being behind the death of Rex Masai.
