Former Nairobi gubernatorial candidate Polycarp Igathe has been named the Managing Director of South African based company Tiger Brands.
Through an update by the company, Igathe was named among six other senior managers of the company and will be in charge of the International Brands Unit.
“We are pleased to announce the internal appointment of six managing directors who will be leading our newly organised business units, following a review of our operating model and structure to enable consumer obsession, agile execution, and innovation,” said the company.

This is not the first time that the former Nairobi Deputy President has worked with Tiger Brands as between 2008-2013 he worked as there Regional Managing Director for East Africa business.
In November 2023 he rejoined the company as the Chief Growth Officer. Polycarp Igathe is well known for working with major brands including Coca-Cola, Kenya Breweries, Haco Industries, Vivo Energy and Equity Bank.
Tiger brands alone boost with its presence in 25 countries including Cameroon, Mozambique, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Nigeria.
