Pope Francis has issued a statement on Sunday despite being in a critical condition as he appreciated the messages he has been receiving.
He continued by appreciating the closeness and prayers he has received from all over the world especially ar rgis difficult time.
“I have recently received many messages of affection, and I have been particularly struck by the letters and drawings from children. Thank you for your closeness, and for the consoling prayers I have received from all over the world!” he said

Pope Francis was admitted on February 14th at Rome’s Gemelli hospital after he developed difficulty in breathing and was then diagnosed with pneumonia on both his lungs.
The same was confirmed by the Vatican who said that the Pope was in critical condition and would need the assistance of supplementary oxygen and blood transfusion especially after experiencing asthma like symptoms.
Despite the health challenges, Vatican confirmed that he was resting well and the Pope assured the flock that he was responding well to treatment as he begins his recovery journey.
“I am confidently continuing my hospitalisation at the Gemelli Hospital, carrying on with the necessary treatment; and rest is also part of the therapy!.
I sincerely thank the doctors and health workers of this hospital for the attention they are showing me and the dedication with which they carry out their service among the sick,” he said
Special masses to pray for the Pope have been held on Sunday across the country including Kenya with Catholics called to pray for his speedy recovery.
