The popular ‘park and chill’ spot around Titanic dam in Juja has been closed indefinitely with all activities around it also banned with immediate effect.
This follows the recent incident where two Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) students drowned while swimming at the place.

Previously, they have been calls for need for safety at the place given the number of people who frequently visit it with others chilling at the spot taking alcohol.
At one point there was a music event held at the place and people turned up in huge numbers unaware of the danger they are exposing themselves.
In 2025 alone, four deaths have been recorded including that of a highly trained recce squad officer who jumped in for a swim.
Confirming its closure was Juja Assistant County Commissioner Mwangi wa Mwangi who said that police officers will be stationed around the place to ensure that the orders are in place.
