President William Ruto has on Monday flagged off 100,000 community health workers who will be dispatched to all 47 county governments.
The health workers who are fully trained will be guided by expert medical care workers and Kenyans will be guaranteed quality services at their homes.
“Flagging off of Community Health Promoters, Afya Nyumbani, Uhuru Park, Nairobi. Kenyans will no longer travel to hospital for screening and treatment of minor ailments.

The employment of fully-trained, home-grown community health promoters — guided by expert medical care workers — will guarantee the administration of quality medical service to millions of people at their homes.” said President Ruto
The health workers plan is part of President Ruto’s reforms in the health sector meant to outdo NHIF in terms of limitations when receiving treatment.
Other plans include the Social Health Insurance Fund (NSIF) and Emergency, Chronic and Critical Illness Fund which will carter for chronic diseases and emergencies.
