President William Ruto has on Monday held talks with religious leaders at State House Nairobi to discuss matters Social Health Authority (SHA).
According to the Head of State, SHA is now offering many services and that payment of services has increased significantly since its introduction.

“The Social Health Authority has significantly changed the provision and delivery of healthcare across the country in the past six months. More Kenyans are registering for SHA, more services are increasingly being offered and efficiency in the payment of services has remarkably improved.
Met religious leaders to continue our discussions on enhancing the efficiency of SHA at faith-based health facilities, State House Nairobi. They included Maseno North Anglican Bishop Charles Asilutwa, Machakos Catholic Bishop Norman King’oo Wambua, Africa Inland Church Presiding Bishop Abraham Mulwa and Supkem National Chairman Hassan ole Naado.” he said
President William Ruto meeting with religious leaders comes at a time when faith based hospitals had threatened to stop issuing SHA services due to the huge debt not settled by the government.
Faith based hospitals just like private hospitals have accused the government of failing to settle balances under NHIF cauing them to run into losses or failing to meet other expenses.
