President William Ruto has on Saturday hosted both Faith Kipyegon and Mary Moraa following their exemplary performance in Budapest.
“At State House Kenya, Nairobi, hosted Faith Kipyegon and Mary Moraa who won gold in the just-concluded World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary.” said the President
Speaking during the event, the Head of State promised to promote a three-month residential camp for the Kenyan team ahead of the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

“Winning medals starts with meticulous, intense and quality preparations. For the 2024 Olympics in Paris, France, we will support a three-month residential camp for the Kenyan team. This will restore our position as an athletics powerhouse in the world.” said President Ruto.
The meeting comes barely a day after the Head of State awarded both Faith Kipyegon and Moraa Ksh 2 million for clinching a gold medal in the just concluded games in Budapest.
Faith Kipyegon went home with Ksh 4 million for winning the 1,500m and 5,000m races while Moraa bagged Ksh 2 million for winning the 800m race.
