President William Ruto has joined Kenyans to mourn the death of former Former Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chairperson Wafula Chebukati.
Taking on social media, President William Ruto termed the former chairperson as a principled and diligent leader who served the country with integrity.
He continued by saying that his prayers are with friends and family of Chebukati especially at this difficult moment.
“I have received the news of the passing of former Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission Chairperson Wafula Chebukati with profound sorrow.
Chebukati was a principled and diligent leader who served the nation with integrity. His death is a great loss to our country.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time. Rest In Peace.” said President Ruto.
Wafula Chebuka passed away on Thursday night following a long illness and had been admitted a hospital in Nairobi.
