President William Ruto has revoked the appointment of Pyrethrum Processing Company of Kenya Board Chairperson Joe Owaka Ager.
Through a gazette notice dated 30th January 2025, the Head of State noted that the changes will take effect from 31st January 2025.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 (1) (a) of the State Corporations Act, as read together with section 51 (1) of the Interpretations and General Provisions Act, I, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, revoke the appointment of Joe Owaka Ager as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Pyrethrum Processing Company of Kenya, with effect from the 31st January, 2025,” read the notice
At the same time, the President revoked the appointment of Kiema Mwandia as a member of the Tanathi Water Works Development Agency Board effective 31st January 2025.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 51 (1) of the Interpretations and General Provisions Act, I, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, revoke the appointment of— Kiema Mwandia (DR.) as a member of the Tanathi Water Works Development Agency Board, with effect from the 31st of January, 2025,” read the gazette notice
Previously, Joe Owaka Ager worked as the chairperson of the National Mining Corporation before his appointment was revoked on December 2023.
He has also served as the chairperson of the Placement Board for the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS), a position that he held from 2018-2021 under the era of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
