President William Ruto appoints three acting Cabinet Secretaries

President William Ruto has on Saturday appointed three acting Cabinet Secretaries to occupy vacant positions that are yet to be filled.

The Head of Public Service Felix Koskei confirmed that the current Prime CS and CS for Foreign Affairs Musalia Mudavadi will take charge of the Information, Communications and the Digital Economy docket.

Environment, Climate Change and Forestry CS Adan Duale will occupy the Agriculture and Livestock Development ministry on an acting capacity as Youth Affairs, Creative Economy, and Sports CS Salim Mvurya will take charge of the Investments, Trade and Industry Ministry docket.

The appointments are set to fill the positions before those appointed in the Ministries undergo the necessary vetting by Parliament.

” As the Cabinet Secretary nominees undergo the requisite parliamentary approval process, His Excellency the President has assigned acting Cabinet Secretaries to the vacant ministerial portfolios,” said Koskei.

Those appointed to the positions are former Health CS Mutahi Kagwe for Agriculture Ministry, former Nakuru Governor Lee Njiru for Trade Ministry and former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo for Information, Communications and the Digital Economy docket.

The CS will undergo vetting on January 14th.
