President William Ruto has broken his silence over the heated succession politics in Mt. Kenya that involves top leaders in Kenya Kwanza government.
In the latest political talks, a section of leaders now want the Head of State to drop his deputy come 2027 and in his place chose either Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro or Interior CS Kithure Kindiki.
Speaking from Gilgil, Nakuru County, President William Ruto condemned the ongoing talks and called on leaders to deliver and to fulfill promises they made to the people during the General Elections.

“Let me ask all leaders that we focus our attention on the delivery of the assignment that was given to us by the people of Kenya.
Especially leaders in Kenya Kwanza and UDA, I want to ask them to step down any contestations for whatever positions – present or future – so that we can work.” said the President
Even though the President has spoken, the debate itself has caused doubt and talks in Mt. Kenya as from which county the next Deputy should come from.
Interior CS Kithure Kindiki has already condemned the news saying that it is irresponsible for leaders to talk about 2027 elections just a year after the General Elections.
“Political talk about the 2027 or other future elections a year after a General Election is tactless, anti-people and primitive.
It is a blot on the maturity of our democracy. President Ruto has assigned me the role of championing his Administration’s programs for the transformation of our Country into a sustainably safe homeland for this and future generations.” said the CS
