“Eldoret has grown from a settlement centre to a vibrant municipality, establishing itself as a key investment hub. Its elevation into a city will attract more and quality investments, presenting an opportunity to harness its full potential.” said President Ruto
Present during the ceremony was Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii who saw the signing of the charter that sealed the city status.
The Governor noted that the city status will now attract investors from all over the world.
“We are looking at opportunities that the city will bring to us. We know we will attract investors from all over the world. We need to package ourselves in a way that the whole world know we are here,” he said
