President William Ruto has on Friday said that he is okay with the viral nickname Kasongo being used mostly on social media.
Speaking during the burial ceremony of National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula’s mother Maayi Nanyama, the Head of State noted that he was good with both the Kasongo and Zakayo nicknames.
He continues by also welcomed the popular Kasongo song saying that he has no issue with it and it will continue playing as it has been played before.

“Kuna watu wengine wako huko kwa mitandao hawataki sana tuseme hiyo mambo kwa sababu wanataka tu kuendelea kusema hakuna kazi inaendelea huku Kenya, fitina, story…mara Kasongo, Zakayo.
Hiyo Kasongo ni sawa, ni wimbo mzuri ambao ulikuwa unaendelea so tuendelee nayo. Ile ya Zakayo pia si mbaya kwa sababu tunakusanya ushuru ya kupeleka Kenya mbele. Hiyo ni sawa.” he said
On social media, the names have been used to call out the President to hear the plights of the high cost of living and taxes not forgetting the current wave of abduction that has angered many demanding answers and action.
