Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca has confirmed that Raheem Sterling will not have minutes at the club moving forward.
Speaking over the issue, Maresca confirmed that he had to be honest with the England forward as he prefers a different kind of wingers.
“I’ve been honest, he will have no minutes here,” he said. “I am not saying Raheem is not a good player but I prefer different kinds of wingers. It’s simple” he continued
The former Manchester City official also confirmed that Ben Chilwell will not have minutes under his tenure and thus will be out of Chelsea’s first team.
“I just try to be honest… I told Raheem he’s going to struggle to get minutes with us. Chilly, he’s going to struggle here too” he said
Maresca was speaking following the return of Joao Felix on a permanent deal from Atletico Madrid further boosting his squad after landing Pedro Neto from Wolves.
“I loved my time here before and I told my friends and family that I’d love to return to the Premier League one day” said Felix.
Felix will join fellow talented stars at the club who will look forward turning things at Stamford especially after their 2-0 loss against Manchester City over the weekend.
