Raila and Gachagua in war of words in Nyandarua

Nyandarua played host to former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua who attended the funeral of Mau Mau freedom fighter John Njigoya Kagwe.

Those present witnessed a war of words between the two leaders especially on matters bipartisan talks between Kenya Kwanza and Azimio and demonstration witnessed across the country.

First on podium was the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga who insisted that the talks should continue as they would end the political stalemate witnessed between the two camps.

He continued by rubbishing off claims that he is interested in a coalition government insisting that he has been there before and is not interested anymore.

Gachagua on the other hand called out the ODM Party leader over recent demonstration stressing out that they were not peaceful but rather about destroying people’s properties.

“Those were not demonstrations, that was theft, looting, destruction of property, and it cannot be allowed in this Republic. Na ndio nimesema hakuna, we will not allow you again. So vile mumesema mtazungumza, endeleeni na mazungumzo, sisi tumetuma Kimani Ichung’wah, wewe umetuma Kalonzo Musyoka, waendelee.

If you agree, mwache fujo, kuharibu mali ya watu na kuiba mali ya Wakenya, we have no problem. Piga tu kelele kutoka asubuhi alafu muende nyumbani, no problem; lakini kuharibu mali ya mtu, ng’we…kama mnataka kuharibu mali ya Wakenya, mharibu kwenu. Hawa watu wa Mt. Kenya, kazi ya ni kutafuta mali na kulinda mali; these people do not know anything about destruction of property,” said Gachagua

The Deputy President reiterated his position that he will not allow any power sharing deals and plans to divide the country into two under his watch and that of President William Ruto.

“Niliskia watu wakisema Kenya itagawanywa mara mbili, Kenya gani? Hii ya William Ruto na Rigathi Gachagua? Inawezekana kweli? Let’s be honest with each other, former Prime Minister; you demonstrate and picket, but let it be peaceful.”he said
