Raila encounters hostile crowd at Gusii stadium chanting ‘Raila must go’

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga faced a hostile crowd at Gusii stadium during a ceremony to unveil Shabana FC’s new kit.

In a video seen by Newsmoto.co.ke, a section of the crowd left the stadium as he began speaking with other chanting ‘Raila must go’

Accompanied by Nairobi Governors Simba Arati, Johnson Sakaja and their Migori counterpart Ochilo Ayako, the former Prime Minister continued with his speech saying that the recent pact with President William Ruto was meant to bring Kenyans together.

It is not clear why the crowd was hostile to the once leader who has had a strong backing of Gusii region but it could be due to his political pact with the President or his recent remarks on former Interior CS Dr. Fred Matiang’i who is poised to vie for Presidency.

The ODM party leader played down his entrance in politics saying that it is impossible to clinch the top seat with the backing of one region.
