Former Prime Minister has met Tanzanian opposition leaders who paid him a courtesy call and discussed matters democracy and national development.
“I held discussions with visiting Tanzanian opposition leaders who paid me a courtesy call. We exchanged views on strengthening democracy on the continent, including effective contribution to national development by parties both in and outside government.” he said

According to Raila, he called on the leaders to embrace dialogue and constructive engagement with their government so as to preserve democracy in the country.
The ODM party leader was speaking as he wished them a peaceful election in their upcoming Tanzanian polls.
“I encouraged them to prioritize dialogue and constructive engagement with their government in the interest of the nation and the preservation of Tanzanian democracy. I look forward to a peaceful and transparent election in the upcoming Tanzianian polls.” said Raila
