Maurice Ogeta, the bodyguard to former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has been released ending days of searching for him.
The news was confirmed by Communication Director Philip Etale who noted that Ogeta was dropped in the middle of the road in Ruai towards Kangundo. Even though his car was vandalized, he is reported to be in shock.

“Maurice Ogeta, bodyguard of Raila Odinga was released from police custody a few minutes to 1:00am and driven while blindfolded and left in the middle of the road in Ruai towards Kangundo. His car is vandalized. H’ever, he is happy to be alive but still distraught & in shock,” said Etale
The news barely hours after the High Court ordered IG of Police Japheth Koome to produce the bodyguard to any court within the country.
Ogeta is among allies of the opposition who have been arrested after calling and supporting the recent countrywide demonstration in the country.
On Friday, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino who had been arrested on Tuesday at JKIA Airport was released on Ksh 100,000 cash bail.
